Emma was recently sent to her room as punishment. She begged and pleaded for a light sentence but ended up serving hard time. When her time was up she rejoined society and had a pair of presents for Mommy and Daddy.

After recovering from their bout with the flu, Granma and Granpa were ready for more fun with the kids. We returned to the farm for one last visit, this time down to the banks of the Broad River. We ended the day by having dinner with an old friend.

While we were home for Thanksgiving we were able to head attend my new niece's baptism in lovely Hoschton, Georgia. She did very well, not crying a bit as some kids often do. Afterwards we went to a nearby park for a family photo op.

We paid another visit to the Pink Pig this year. It was Emma's second visit and Henry's very first. By the end of the night Henry was squealing, "Pink pig! Pink pig!" just as his sister had two years before.

On a recent trip to Japan I visited Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, a Buddhist temples first built in 798 and reconstructed in 1633. The temple offered fantastic views of the city of Kyoto and plenty of photo ops.

While in Kyoto I was also able to stop by and see Nijo Castle (Nijojo). It was built in the early 1600's by Tokugawa Ieyasu. While the name probably isn't familiar, his story certainly is: the novel (and later mini-series) Shogun.
