This past weekend we took a jaunt down to lovely La Jolla. We perused the town, had a fantastic dinner and then ran ourselves into the ground the next morning at the La Jolla Shores 5K.

Much like Bruce Banner turning into The Incredible Hulk, Henry transformed himself into a frightening robot monster of doom the other night. His poor victim, The Red Balloon, was helpless to defend itself in the face of such terrific might.
I made it home from Japan just in time to drive to California Elite and see Emma swimming with Granpa Northcutt on his last visit. They didn’t notice I had snuck in so I was able to watch for the first few minutes without them even knowing I was there.
Our kids have proven to have quite the musical ear. Whether it’s Emma singing or Henry playing back-up singer we’ve tried to encourage them to sing, dance and clap with the music.
Last week some good friends from Atlanta were out on the West Coast for a special occasion. We trekked up to Santa Monica to see Jonah The Movie Star before his big TV appearance on the Nikelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Last weekend we had a picnic with Marla and the kids’ playgroup at O’Neill Regional Park.
In all six families (12 adults, 25 kids and two dogs) got together to spend an evening hanging out in what passes for wilderness in Orange County.
There were endless complaints about the Guitar Hero II controller for the Xbox 360 from people at work, all of whom are Guitar Hero freaks. To put a common complaint (“built for toddlers”) to the test I enlisted the help of real, live toddler research subjects.
