While Emma remains fairly non-committal when it comes to berries Henry is an unabashed fan. He eats while picking, he eats after picking... whenever and whereever he can get his hands on some berries.

You might have noticed from previous pictures that she was getting a little large for her first bike so for her 5th birthday Emma received a shiny new Hello Kitty bicycle. She was absolutely beaming from ear to ear when she started riding around the neighborhood.

We're all done with the destruction and we're starting to see things go back together. After about four days of hauling things out of the kitchen Sea Pointe started bringing new materials into the kitchen to build a new soffit above the cabinets.

So we've got sheetrock now. In a few short days they closed up all of the exposed walls and ceiling, properly mounted the light cans amd receptacles. Texturing the ceiling and walls was done shortly thereafter.

Last year Emma had a race car party because, you know, every sweet four year-old girl loves cars, right? This year she opted for more traditional girly-fare and had a princess party. So, on the day of the grand event, several dozen kids arrived fully decked out in various princess outfits.

While Marla's parents were in town we took a trek down to The Flower Fields to view the last of the ranunculus flowers for the season. We arrived just in time: it was the last day of the year to view them.

Hallelujah! While having walls was nice and all, having cabinets is even better. I returned home last week after a quick jaunt to Cary, NC to find that our formerly barren kitchen now had a full suite of beautiful cabinets installed and ready to be trimmed.

I was in Cary, NC just before Memorial Day weekend this year. I thought it would be a nice surprise to drive down and surprise my mother for her birthday. It was also a convenient excuse to visit the family farm and view the latest addition. Buffalo!
