I started this website a little over 10 years ago, just before Emma was born. It’s hard to believe that that tiny, dark-haired bundle of joy has grown into the smart, beautiful and funny girl you see up above.

Day 9: Makalawena Beach
Note to readers: You should not blaze any trails in a Trailblazer. We took a bumpy ride on a 4WD-only road to get to Makalawena Beach. The reward for our ride of terror was well worth the effort. The beach was relatively uncrowded and absolutely gorgeous. Continue reading
Day 6: Hapuna Beach
I woke us up at the crack of dawn today for our whale watching tour only to discover once we arrived that the tour wasn’t until tomorrow. We ended up driving to Hapuna Beach and had a wonderful time playing in the sand. Continue reading
Day 5: I Saw Lava!
Volcanoes have been a life-long fascination of mine so you can imagine that I was excited to visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We arrived with just enough time for a few minutes in the Visitor Center and a short hike before hunting for flowing lava. Continue reading

We spend the morning touring coffee farms and The Painted Church. The afternoon is spent frolicking at Ke’ei beach and ends with spectacular sunset. Who could ask for more? Continue reading
gothenburg thus far
Sweden is cool. I’ve been here for three full days now and am having fun. We’re working very hard (12 – 14 hour days) but with 16 hours of sunlight it makes it a little easier to wander around before and after work to see a few sights.
