Emma has been taking piano lessons for several months now, all building up to The Big Recital. We practiced “Good King Wenceslas” at home dozens of times over the past six weeks. We can now all sing the song either by word (“Good King Wenceslas went out…”) or note (C C C G E C G F…)
The day of the performance arrived just after I had returned from a business trip to Japan. I was somewhat worried that I would doze off during the show thanks to jet lag and miss the whole thing. Luckily, this was not the case and I was able to watch Emma perform flawlessly – including a proper bow at the end.
Because of the terrible snow storm in Seattle my
mood was not a happy one, until a bright light hit
my horizon. The bright light I am speaking of is
my Grand-Daughter Emma playing her song for the first ever piano concert. Just perfect Emma. I clapped and sang along with you. Couldn’t be more
proud. You are a star.
Love,
Grandma Mandel
