I ran in the Dove Dash 5K this past weekend in Dove Canyon, CA. Proceeds from the race went to Ryan’s Reach Foundation, a non-profit devoted to recovery from brain injuries.
I was just 8 seconds off of my best time for a 5K at 26’48”. I feel pretty certain I would have been able to beat my record with no problem had it not been for a stupendous hill there at the end of the course. That was cruel!
After the race there was a great pancake breakfast on the lawn overlooking the lake (reservoir) with a gorgeous view of Saddleback Mountain. Mornings like this make me think maybe our homes in Orange County really are worth a million bucks!
Todd,
My name is Brian Stowe and I’m the event director for the Dove Dash. We just came across your blog and want to thank you for the kind words about the event and look forward to seeing you at this years Dash (March 21st, 2010).
We would like your permission to use your elevation profile of the race course and use it on the active.com website for this year. It’s by far one of the best ones we’ve seen.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at 714.815.0009 or at brianstowe@cox.net.
Best regards,
Brian Stowe
