Eyeglass Bridge

It's just my luck that my day one day off in Tokyo was a Friday, when the only publicly accessible part of the Imperial Palace (Kokyo) complex, the East Garden, is closed. (The Palace itself and the inner gardens are generally not open to the public. Only two days a year, the Emperor's birthday and New Years, are the public allowed to enter.)

I got some great shots, though, of the Meganebashi (Eyeglass Bridge). The light was terrible since the sky was so overcast and bright. The conditions, though, did bring out the reflections of the bridge in the moat underneath making the "eyeglass effect" really prominent.

I like the ones of the bridges with the reflections. Also, those ducks totally don't look Japanese.

Thanks!

Yeah, the reflection worked out just right. I was trying to figure out a way to salvage the day given the terrible light. It was impossible to expose anything on the ground without totally blowing the sky.

re: ducks

I took that one and a few others specifically for Emma. You know she has that duck fetish :)
