Winter Camp 2012

For the second year in a row we joined our Cub Scout troop for Winter Camp at Camp Marin Sierra.

Thankfully the snow wasn’t as late as I am getting these pictures up. We lucked out, again, and got fresh snow just in time for our arrival. The big new activity this year, given how fresh the snow was, was knocking on trees to create a mini-avalanche. Our hike took forever since we stopped at every tree. The laughter that followed more than made up for the extra time out in the cold.

And Then There Were Engles

Within just a few weeks of moving into our new digs we’ve had not one, but two sets of visitors. And none of them relatives, either! In the entire 12 years we lived in Orange County we didn’t have a single non-familial visitor. Perhaps San Francisco is a much better draw than the warm, sandy beaches of OC?

A Tale of Two Fields

We spent our spring break this year in San Francisco, kicking off a house hunt. The first few days were spent as tourists, staying right off Market just a few blocks away from a foodies’ paradise, the Ferry Building. The kids enjoyed the hotel stay I think, mostly because it entailed lazy mornings spent lounging in front of the television.
