We stayed home this year for Thanksgiving. It was a bit smaller than I’m used to from childhood (no “kids table” filled with cousins) but it was nice not having to travel. We haven’t tried an airplane trip yet with three kids now.
Our menu was excellent, as usual. Marla picked a few from Ina Garten’s new book: roast turkey roulade and a fig and cranberry stuffing. It felt a little odd not roasting a whole bird, but was the perfect size for our small clan. Sweet potato souffle and green beans rounded out the menu.
Emma decorated the table for us, as you can see, and requested that we all “dress fancy.” We mostly obliged and ended the long weekend full of both food and smiles.
