Marla and the kids were extra nice to me this year for my birthday. Not only did I receive a visit from my mother and my usual homemade coconut cake but I also received the smokin’ hot espresso machine and burr grinder I’ve always wanted.

My Saeco Aroma makes a mighty fine drink, with the tastiest of crema.

And, of course, the cake was delicious as always. Marla always goes above and beyond and grates the coconut by hand. She’s generally slaving away for two days roasting and shredding coconuts. The end result, though, is well worth the effort!
