Many, many years ago a crew at GameSpy started running around Skypark Circle training for the Bay Bridge Run in San Diego. I was determined to make this one of my 12 races for this year. With Grandma and Grandpa Mandel in tow we headed down to San Diego for a short weekend trip.
This past weekend we took a jaunt down to lovely La Jolla. We perused the town, had a fantastic dinner and then ran ourselves into the ground the next morning at the La Jolla Shores 5K.
I ran in the Dove Dash 5K this past weekend in Dove Canyon, CA. I was just 8 seconds off of my best time for a 5K at 26’48″. I feel pretty certain I would have been able to beat my record with no problem had it not been for a stupendous hill there at the end of the course.
In late August I took a look in the mirror and decided I didn’t like what I saw. So I headed to the store and picked up a pair of running shoes, the Nike+ attachement for my Nano and was off to the races. This entry is a status report after my first 24 hours.
