In the weeks leading up to Christmas Grandma Northcutt and Marla were snap-happy, capturing our two children playing together. It is a treat to come home and see these pictures because all to often when I get home from work play patterns are interrupted.
We’ve entered 2006 wet and soggy so we’re stuck in the house with nary to entertain us but the largest haul in Northcutt Christmas history. (Look for pictures of our excess later in the week!) While the kiddies nap I thought I’d offer these two sets of cute pictures to grandparents itching to hug their grandbabies.
The Mom’s Club took a tour of the local Krispy Kreme and a good time was had by all. Henry also tried his hand at ironing. (Oh, add “play with hot iron” to the list of things the second child can do.) He wasn’t too bad for someone who could barely stand without support.
Emma has finally met all of her favorite celebrity chefs from the Food Network. Frequent readers will recall that Marla is big fan of Giada De Laurentiis and Rachael Ray. I’m a huge Alton Brown fan. (Just ask me to show you my 8′ high stack of Good Eats DVDs some time!)
Just days before Henry’s birthday I went on a quick business trip to Tokyo, Japan. It was a whirlwind trip, leaving on Sunday and returning on Wednesday. In the hours before and after our meetings I wandered around the city near our hotel. Continue reading
Our sweet Henry-boy turned one on December 21 and was surrounded by friends and family. About a dozen families, some from GameSpy and some from Mom’s Club, helped us celebrate the occassion.
One of the amazing benefits of being a digital packrat is that you’re always running across things from your distant past. Like a RadioSpy v1.1 installer from March 2000 to silly webpages you made in 1998 to your first webcam photos from 1997.
We’ve entered a new stage in parenting: attending a class performance at school.
Emma’s class has been dilligently practicing songs for a few weeks now and on Tuesday we were able to see the results of such dedication during a “Thankful Feast.” All parents were invited to join in for music and delicious food (deli turkey and store-bought rolls).
Early in October Granpa Northcutt paid a visit while on a business trip and took sweet Emma to the California International Auto Show in Anaheim.
Now, I know it may seem odd to take a 3 year old to a car show but if you know Emma – and I think you do – you’ll realize that the only thing she would possibly love more is a duck exhibition.
Halloween 2005 has been a much different experience than any other Halloween to date.
If you recall last year, Emma visitied four houses and then had reached her limit. This year Quackin’ Duck couldn’t get enough and we visited nearly every home in our neighborhood that had decorations inviting us to their door.
