Outstanding in the Field
A year ago Marla and I took a night off, away from the kids to attend a farm feast by the fine folks at Outstanding in The Field at Sage Mountain Farm in Hemet, CA.

We spent the afternoon and evening in Hollywood, enjoying Cars 2 at the El Capitan Theater. This was our third trip to the historic El Capitan. The first was to see the original Cars, when Emma was an only child. We saw Oceans last year, with a full contingent of children. Oceans, sadly, didn’t get the full feature treatment of organ and curtain light show. Cars 2, though, was a full-blown event. Following the movie (great for kids, so-so for adults) there was a mini-theme park set up behind the theater that entertained us for a good long while.
We spent our spring break this year in San Francisco, kicking off a house hunt. The first few days were spent as tourists, staying right off Market just a few blocks away from a foodies’ paradise, the Ferry Building. The kids enjoyed the hotel stay I think, mostly because it entailed lazy mornings spent lounging in front of the television.
We’ve spent a fair number of days on a plane in the last six months with trips to Atlanta for Christmas, San Francisco for spring break and again to S.F. for a house hunting trip. While I think much of what the TSA does qualifies as “security theater” I’m always careful to keep my opinion to myself, especially around the kids.
Henry and Cora pass a rain shower in slumber while in Mill Valley. Marla and Emma took the opportunity to wander downtown in relative peace.
Time for our annual Easter family photo! As we all get bigger (Well, except Marla. She seems to get skinnier all the time!) we have a harder and harder time standing still. Continue reading
