Willy Wonka Preview

Emma is performing in her very first school play, a performance of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She will be playing a Wonka Bar and has been practicing relentlessly for weeks. Here’s a little preview.

Student of The Day

On the day I came back from Japan in December the stars aligned and many things happened. First, Emma’s class performed The Ginger Bread Man. Second, we saw Emma’s first piano recital.

Emma’s first grade class performed “The Gingerbread Man” as their holiday play. She was one of the trees, who’s sole line was, “Too bad!”

Emma has joined The Brownies this year at school and, unlike her experience with blah, she seems to be enjoying herself. There are no protest signs this time around and she looks forward to each meeting.

First Day of First Grade

Just after Labor Day Emma embarked on her latest adventure: first grade. She was very excited about it, having talked all summer long about all of the wonderful things she was destined to learn.

Emma’s career as a kindergartner ends with art shows and field trips. We also get to meet baby friends and baby birds to start the month of June.
