Henry is a remakably agreeable subject when it comes to photography. He tirelessly poses for the camera and is amenable to trying new things and strange poses. He’s not at all shy and doesn’t mind me getting up close to his face.
I can’t even begin to describe just how happy I am with how this picture turned out. So proud, in fact, that I’m just going to post it now and worry with the rest later. (Click for the larger version.)

We brought Mr. Henry Owen home from the hospital today (Thursday). Despite being 5 weeks early, he is in tip-top shape according to the docs. Still a scrawny 5 lbs, of course, but otherwise doing fine.
Less than 24 hours later and we are the proud new parents of Henry Owen Northcutt. Born at 4:59 PM on December 21st, 2004 Henry weighed in at a trim 5 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 16.5 inches tall. Continue reading
Marla’s water broke at 12:30 AM this morning. We were admitted to Mission Hospital at about 1:30 AM. She’s resting fine at the hospital now and we’re waiting on the fun (labor) to begin. Continue reading
Marla and The Baby continue to grow. At the check-up earlier this week things were right on track with Baby weighing in at 2.2 lbs and about 14 inches long.
Oh! I almost forgot. Here are two of the promised shots of Marla’s growing belly. I love it!
We had our big “Baby Tour” on Wednesday. The “Baby Tour” is that awesome ultrasound session you have sometime in the second trimester. If you’ve had it done, you know what I’m talking about.
The ultrasound tech begins poking and prodding with the probe, pointing out interesting features along the way. It’s a lot like the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland, only without the corny jokes.
“And here, you see The Kid‘s the feet. See those little toes? Aren’t they cute?”
“And this, of course, is the head. See the nose? And the eyes? So cute…”
You don’t, of course, see the eyes or the nose. But it sure sounds a lot better than, “See the eye sockets? Aren’t those cute eye sockets? And how about that nasal cavity!”
Our little family of three will be expanding soon.
You know what I’m getting at, right? Yep, I thought so.
Emma will soon be a big sister come January/February. (There’s a little bit of disagreement on the due date… Estimates range between Jan 26 and Feb 6.)
We are excited and so is she!
